October 26, 2016 Selects SAMSUNG ARTIK™ Smart IoT Platform for Next-Gen Gateway Device

scroll to top, the leader in beacon manufacturing, announced today that it has selected the SAMSUNG ARTIK™ Smart IoT platform to power its new Gateway device.

The Gateway serves as an advanced beacon management tool that is designed to help businesses monitor their beacons remotely and interact with local beacons to check status – including health, performance and movement – and then aggregate their data before pushing it to the cloud, where it can be monitored in near-real time. Powered by the ARTIK 5 module, the Gateway leverages built-in radios, flash storage and best-in-class security to provide a solution that is three times less expensive than any active RFID system available. The Gateway will be shown at the Korea Electronics Show held in COEX Convention Hall A, Samsung Stand E810 in Seoul, South Korea from October 26-29th, 2016.

Until now, Bluetooth®-enabled tracking systems have involved three elements: beacons, a smartphone, and someone to physically visit a monitored space. Now, thanks to the Gateway, real time tracking can be fully automated and managed from anywhere in the world without smartphones or people on-site.

“ has been working on the concept of Gateway for some time but the right elements couldn’t be put together until now. We knew from experience that customers placed a great value on being able to monitor the performance of all their beacons in one place and then analyze and use the data collected from them. With its considerable computing power, the SAMSUNG ARTIK™ platform lets us build the ultimate device for this exact purpose,” said Łukasz Szelejewski, Head of Hardware.

“We are very pleased by the level of creativity by companies developing IoT products and services. Seeing companies like focus on their unique features and expertise by building on top of the SAMSUNG ARTIK™ platform is exciting and we’re looking forward to watching how these new innovations shape IoT in the years to come,” said Curtis Sasaki, Vice President of Ecosystems, Samsung Electronics.’s Gateway makes it possible to track assets, manage and secure office spaces, identify high traffic areas and much more, based on data gathered from beacons. It is available for pre-order now for $89 and will ship to customers in eight weeks. For more information on the Gateway Beta, please visit Store.
