Kontakt.io, the leader in beacon manufacturing, announced today that it has selected the SAMSUNG ARTIK™ Smart IoT platform to power its new Gateway device.
The Gateway serves as an advanced beacon management tool that is designed to help businesses monitor their beacons remotely and interact with local beacons to check status – including health, performance and movement – and then aggregate their data before pushing it to the cloud, where it can be monitored in near-real time. Powered by the ARTIK 5 module, the Gateway leverages built-in radios, flash storage and best-in-class security to provide a solution that is three times less expensive than any active RFID system available. The Gateway will be shown at the Korea Electronics Show held in COEX Convention Hall A, Samsung Stand E810 in Seoul, South Korea from October 26-29th, 2016.
Until now, Bluetooth®-enabled tracking systems have involved three elements: beacons, a smartphone, and someone to physically visit a monitored space. Now, thanks to the Gateway, real time tracking can be fully automated and managed from anywhere in the world without smartphones or people on-site.
