Kontakt.io Inc., a location-based solution provider, and Quuppa Oy, a market leader in advanced indoor positioning technology, today announced a new partnership. The companies have joined forces, combining Quuppa’s technology and Kontakt.io’s solutions, to develop more cutting edge location solutions for the multi-billion dollar Real-Time Locating Systems (RTLS) market.
The companies first crossed paths in early 2018, through a common end customer. While running a project using Quuppa’s technology, the end customer asked whether it would be possible to track Kontakt.io’s Bluetooth® enabled tags, which were a good fit for the form specifications set by the use case. The customer required tags with a long battery life that were small enough to be attached to employee badges to improve work security and slim enough to be attached to products for asset tracking. In addition to technical compatibility, the companies recognized the potential for further collaboration.
The Quuppa Intelligent Locating System™ is an open platform that enables Ecosystem Partners to easily integrate the system into their own solutions. The Quuppa Partner Ecosystem includes tag manufacturers, installation services, software and end-to-end solution providers and system integrators. Today, Kontakt.io is a qualified Quuppa Tag Partner, producing a portfolio of tag devices that are fully compatible with the Quuppa platform and have been certified as Quuppa Approved: Asset Tag S18-3Q, Card Tag CT18-3Q, Tough Beacon TB18-2Q, Smart Beacon SB18-3Q, Heavy Duty Beacon HD18-3Q, and couple of wearables to be added soon.
