Let’s Talk Real Numbers: Introducing the Month of Proximity in Retail
Last week, we published our very first white paper featuring Howler, our Boston-based partner who uses the power of proximity to transform relationships between businesses and customers.
(By the way, it’s a very nice white paper and the most in-depth study you’ll read this month. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, you’re really missing out. High time to catch up!)Download the white paper
This white paper, as well as our upcoming activities will completely change the way the world is speaking about proximity. How? Keep reading!
Changing the approach
Beacon technology is currently a hot topic. Nevertheless, it is still difficult to find quality information about the performance, results, and the real impact of proximity marketing on business revenue, and customer activity.
The vast majority of use cases that you can find belong to one of two categories:
- future or imaginary use cases,
- impressions and anecdotes that present no real numbers
And most of them speak only about the customer’s side. There’s nothing wrong with that, but you need to remember that proximity –as a win-win solution– should work for both parties. There are tons of articles that talk about how beacons improve the customers’ experience, but we haven’t seen as many talking about hard ROI on beacons for businesses.
We want to change it. So this month we’re talking about both customer- and business-focused successful implementation stories containing in-depth data, proven numbers, and real ROI.
This month is all about retail
Starting from now (till mid-May), we’ll be speaking about retail. We’ll tell you fascinating stories of local stores, huge malls, and restaurants, using their own solutions or pre-built platforms. We’ll share some best practices, answer many questions that come retailers to minds while thinking beacons, and propose completely new ideas for innovative beacons usage. We’ll have white papers, use cases, videos, tweets, infographics, and great content galore!
If you are a retailer and you have any questions regarding beacon technology in your industry, please leave them below or tweet us @kontakt_io. If you have an interesting implementation story that you want to share with us, feel free to do so! If you want to contribute another way, give your opinion, share an interesting article, or just say hi, we’d love to hear from you.

Next month’s theme is museums. Galleries, art museums, indoor and out, we’re looking at what makes a good musem’s proximity tick, and we’d also love to hear from anyone who wants to share information on that as well.
